In this Post you will know many commands of Microsoft Disk Operating System . The uses of that commands and the works of that command. So, lets commenced the learning process.
Edit command:-
E.g. C:\>Edit 8
When
you open edit command this windows will come.
- New: - This option is used to change the document or page.

Goto file menu
-
Click on new
- Open: - This option is used to open
the file.
-
Goto file menu
-
Click on open
-
Choose required file
-
Click on OK.
- Save: - This option is used to save
the document.
-
Type your document
-
Goto file menu
-
Click on save
-
Type file name
-
Click on ok.
- Save as: - This option is used to
resave the file with another name. or it is used to make duplicate file.

Open any file
-
Goto file menu
-
Click on save as
-
Type another name
-
Click on OK.
- Close: - This option is used to
close the current file.
-
Goto file menu
-
Click on close
- Print: - it is used to print the
data on the paper.
-
Open your required file which you want to print
-
Goto file menu
-
Click on print
-
Click on OK.
- Exit: - this option is used to
close the edit command.
-
Goto file menu
-
Click on exit
- Cut: - this option is used to
move the text one location into another location.
-
Select the text which you want to move.
-
Goto edit menu
-
Click on cut
-
Choose location where you want to move.
-
Click on paste by going to edit menu
- Copy: - this option is used to
copy the same document.

Select the text which you want to copy
-
Goto edit menu
-
Click on copy
-
Choose location where you want to keep
-
Click on past by going to edit menu
- Clear: - it is used to clear the
text.

Select the text which you want to delete/clear
-
Click on edit menu
-
Click on clear
- Find: - this option is used to
find the text.
-
Keep the cursor start of the sentence.
-
Goto search menu
-
Click on find
-
Type in given box which you want to find
-
Click on OK.
- Repeat last find: - if you want to find same thing another then click on repeat last find by going to search menu.
- Replace: - this option is used to
replace the text.
-
Keep the cursor start of the sentence.
-
Goto search menu
-
Click on replace
-
Type the text in find what box which you want to change.
-
Type your new text which you want to replace.
-
Click on replace.
- Note: - If you click on replace then your text will be change one by one.
If you want to change all the text at a time than click on replace all.
- Setting: - it is used to set tab
position and printer.
-
Goto option menu
-
Click on setting
-
Set tab position and printer.
-
Click on OK.
- Color: - this option is used to
set font color and background color.
-
Goto option menu
-
Click on color
-
Choose color which you like
-
Click on ok.
