Summary :-
                   The story entitled “The House Call ” is a supernatural story which happens in Berlin, Germany. The central Character of this story is Dr. Emil Brawn around whom the whole story moves and the supporting characters are Elda, Alda and Emil’s wife. The story is about the intimation love and affection of a baby (Alda) towards her mother (Elda) and about a doctor who always give first priority to his work.
                        Dr. Emil Brawn Was a famous surgeon in Berlin, Germany. He is moral, Kind-hearted, helpful and dutiful doctor. He believes in hardworking and is loyal towards his profession. He has developed a habit of writing notes of his daily activities and operations which help him and others in the same condition. He always give first priority to profession i.e. Doctor and second priority to others work.
                        It was the day after Christmas when doctor Emil Brawn was trying to wrote some notes about the surgery before his dinner. Suddenly, he fell asleep in the dinning table due to tiredness. After that he woke up with a pleading voice of a little girl for the house call. Her wife not allowed him to go with the girl because it was raining outside. But the doctor go with the girl for treatment as it was his duty.
                         The doctor tried to walk with the little girl because he wanted to asked some questions such as where is she from, what is the condition of her mother and many more while both are heading toward the girl’s home. The girl was walking two-four steps ahead the doctor. She was walking as she was showing the way.
                        After some time they reached to the girls house. Dr. Emil Brawn found an old woman sleeping bed. He easily recognizes her as she used to work with him earlier as a maintenance staff. Elda was suffering from pneumonia. He gives him a medicine and praised about her little girl was bigger and obedient. After that she said she had only one daughter who died of flu in September three months ago. The doctor had a look of surprise as he was called by the same little girl. He searched the girl but she wasn’t there. He found the shoes, and shawl wet which had been kept in her memory. The doctor realized that he encountered the spirit of Elda’s dead daughter that night.

THE END
Summary :-
  1. Dr. Braun was tired of surgical case that night.
  2.  He woke up when he heard a pleading voice of a little girl for the house call.
  3. The doctor decided to go for the house call.
  4. The girl was walking two steps ahead the doctor.
  5. They reached to the old building.
  6.  The doctor the recognized the lady, she was Elda.
  7.  She was suffering from pneumonia.
  8.  The doctor praised her daughter.
  9.  She told him her daughter died of flu three months ago.
  10.   Elda showed him the shawl and shoes of Alda which she kept for memory.
  11.  Dr. Braun found them wet and dry.

He realizes he was encountered the spirit of the little girl.
